ICR - Volume 7 Issue 1 - Spring 2012
In this latest issue – Volume 7 Issue 1 – George Dangas et al contribute an article entitled ‘Early Stent Thrombosis after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Acute Myocardial Infarction’. The authors note that as patients presenting with STEMI are at increased risk of ST, employment of the optimal pharmacological, procedure- and device-related prevention and treatment modalities are imperative. Elsewhere, Carlo Di Mario and colleagues examine techniques for bifurcation treatment. The authors review the barriers to success posed by malapposed struts, stent thrombosis and in-stent restenosis, and discuss the potential of new technologies and dedicated designs in overcoming such limitations.
